James “Jim” Slaughter has worked in the Financial Services arena since 1968. 

Jim began his career at Legg Mason where he was a successful Financial Advisor.  His proven track record allowed him to pursue opportunities in several areas of the financial services industry.

He spent many years working to educate Financial Advisors on specific investments relevant to their clients.  Jim was a top producer at Protective Life Insurance Company as a Division Sales Director, a position he held for 4 years.  He also held a position as the Division Sales Manager for 9 years with that same company.  His previous employment included Pilgrim Mutual Funds, Eden Financial Group and Brock Exploration where he served as the National Sales Manager. 

Jim received his Masters in Business Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.  He also received his Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia.

 

Jim is currently one of three church trustees for First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia.  He has also been a Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years - teaching youth and adult groups.

Jim resides in Virginia Beach with his wife Patricia, a Principal in the Virginia Beach Public Schools.  He has 2 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.
